As the wild edible and medicinal fungi resources in the cold region of northeast China were collected, isolated, identified and stored, the germplasm bank of edible and medicinal fungi in the cold region was established and more than 2000 strains of edible and medicinal fungi were collected and stored. By virtue of germplasm evaluation and wild domestication of edible and medicinal fungi of economic value, excellent edible and medicinal fungi suitable for cultivation in northeast China have been bred. There are such nearly 20 edible and medicinal fungi varieties with frigid characteristics as black fungus, oyster mushroom, flammulina mushroom, hericium mushroom, elm yellow mushroom, Yuan Mushroom, pine tree ganoderma lucidum and mogula mushroom. A relatively complete technical system has been formed for the collection and preservation of germplasm resources, and the genetic breeding and cultivation of edible and medicinal fungi. Our breeding and cultivation technique of black fungus is leading in China. The wild black fungus resources in northeast China were used to isolate and breed more than 30 black fungus strains suitable for cultivation in the cold region of north China. 12 varieties of black fungus have been authorized by the state and Heilongjiang Province, and 5 invention patents of fungus have been obtained. Our team has made a great breakthrough in the cultivation technology of black fungus and has established the field cultivation and greenhouse cultivation system for cold region black fungus to provide seed service and technology support for black fungus farmers and enterprises. The 2 billion bags of annual production promoted by our team help black fungus production become the agricultural pillar industry in Heilongjiang, accounting for 50% of the country production.
