Clinical application of additive manufacturing of personalized multi-vacancy tantalum implant prosthesis

    Based on the scientific research results and clinical needs of the national key special projects of Chongqing Institute of Optics and Mechanics and the Southwest Hospital of AMU (Army Military Medical University), our company established a complete set service projects including 3D reconstruction, preoperative measurement and simulation, 3D printing model operation exercises and doctor-patient communication in 2016 after nearly one year’s communication with doctors in key technology improvement. All the above started with 3D visualization preoperative planning service for orthopedics and arthritis. Our company became the first 3D technical service provider of scientific research of the Southwest Hospital of AMU in 2017, promoting extended technical service projects to various departments of the hospital. Our scientific research services went to departments of orthopedics, thoracic surgery, plastic surgery and stomatology. The service items were successfully incorporated into the clinical fee system of medical insurance in 2018. So far, more than 2500 cases of joint replacement surgery have successfully applied our technology. This technology has been promoted to the Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, Chongqing People's Hospital, Chongqing Orthopedic Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine , and the first and second affiliated hospitals of Wannan Medical College in Anhui Province.
