The cultivation of plants, which contain immune-stimulating compounds, and the preparation of feed from them, is important and promising direction in fodder production. The concentration of immune-stimulants in the top of such plants is much lower than in preparations specially obtained from them (tinctures, extracts), but feeding fodder from them also provides a significant prophylactic or therapeutic effect. Moreover, this feed is in all other respects valuable and highly nutritious. At the same time, it is necessary to select such crops, the use of which would have a double effect. Not every plant, which contains biologically active substances, can be at the same time a fodder crop suitable for widespread cultivation. The studies have revealed the possibility of successful cultivation in the Urals of a number of dual-purpose crops, from the green mass of which it is possible to prepare biologically active fodder: hay, haylage, grass flour or granules. The introduction of such crops in the northern regions of China can have a significant positive impact on the state of animal husbandry.
