On the basis of the institute, a complex was created for the implementation of laser shock peening of parts and structural elements of various geometries in order to improve fatigue and anticorrosion properties, as well as to increase the reliability of welded joints. The maximum laser energy is 9 J, the frequency is 1-5 Hz. The optical system makes it possible to form square spots 1x1 and 3x3 mm and a round spot with a diameter of 2 mm. An industrial robotic manipulator with a payload of up to 50 kg and a positioning accuracy of up to 0.1 mm is used for dynamic positioning of workpieces.

The complex also includes an installation for measuring residual stresses by drilling holes. It allows you to estimate the magnitude of residual stresses at a depth of 1 mm.
